Hertford Studios Named SME National Business Awards Finalist

Two years ago, Hertford Studios was just an idea.

An empty building. A lot of late nights. And a belief that people needed a professional creative studio where businesses, brands and creators could produce incredible content without travelling into London.

When we first started talking about Hertford Studios, the idea was actually quite simple.

We wanted to create a professional, flexible creative space outside London.

As a creative business based in Hertfordshire, we knew there were plenty of talented photographers, filmmakers, agencies, brands and creative businesses in the area. What we felt was missing was somewhere they could come together to produce professional content without automatically having to head into London. And so, Hertford Studios began.

Hertford Studios is based in Hertfordshire, close enough to London to be accessible but far enough away to offer something different: space, flexibility and a more relaxed production environment.

Today, I'm so proud to share that Hertford Studios has been named a finalist in the SME Business Awards 2026 in the Best New Business category. It’s a moment that means so much to us, because anyone who runs a business knows that what people see is only a small part of the story.

They don't see the weekends spent painting walls before a Monday shoot. The evenings replying to enquiries when I just want to go to bed. The investment, the risks, the moments you've questioned yourself, or the excitement when a client walks through the door and says, "Wow."

This recognition belongs to every client who has trusted us. Every booking has helped us build something we're incredibly proud of. A huge thank you to our brilliant clients, our amazing apprentice Lois and of course my husband Rob, my partner in love and life.

Whatever happens at the awards in November, being recognised on a national stage already feels like a huge achievement. Thank you to everyone who has supported Hertford Studios so far.
